Follow our top 4 cleaning steps below!!

Wipe Dust & Dirt First.

Many homeowners make the error or doing a few quick wipes and never consider wiping your dirt and dust off first on a completely different towel. This saves you from dragging dirt all over the window. This also allows them to look significantly cleaner & stay cleaner for longer periods of time.

Use a Microfiber Cloth.

Microfiber cloths are a really great home tool to have for cleaning. We recommend making sure they are white; dyed cloths are often times controversial when it comes to wetness. You won’t want the color to stain any part of your window.

Clean Window Tracks.

A lot of dirt hides in the tracks! If you want to go longer between cleaning, make sure you really scrub the tracks. Cleaning the tracks also helps clear out pollen, dirt, dust that otherwise would sit for weeks/months at a time. Don’t forget about them!

Clean Interior & Exterior of Windows.

Many homeowners make the mistake of only cleaning the interior of their windows. It is extremely important to clean the exterior too. Your exterior is often times even more dirty depending on time between cleaning, weather, season, etc.

Here is a recipe for a homemade window cleaning product from Green Living, from National Geographic! In a spray bottle mix the following:

  • 50% White Distilled Vinegar

  • 50% Tap Water

  • ** If windows are extremely grimy/dirty, prewash with soapy water, then use this water/vinegar recipe! We recommend using Dawn Dish Detergent when it comes to very dirty windows.
